Jon Steinman is the Producer/Host of Deconstructing Dinner - a syndicated weekly one-hour radio show produced at Kootenay Co-op Radio CJLY in Nelson, BC.

The show airs weekly on 27 stations across Canada and can be heard throughout the United States, New Zealand, Australia and England. A growing global listener-base is also found through the show’s Internet-accessible Podcast.

Jon launched Deconstructing Dinner in January 2006 after recognizing a lack of critical and objective media coverage on the impacts our food choices have beyond our own bodies.

Now approaching 100 shows, Jon’s work has helped encourage the community of Nelson to become a hotbed of innovative food security projects that Canadian communities can look to for inspiration.

Jon sits on the steering committee of Community Food Matters - a Nelson food security collective and is a board member of the Kootenay Country Store Co-operative - one of Canada’s only co-operatively owned grocery stores with a social and environmental conscience.
