Break the Stereo - Break The Stereo May 30 2009
Between the funk and the heat, Break the Stereo is burning up this week! Blackberry Jam, Parliament, All points Bulletin Band and the Gaturs with Gatur Bait. What a sick track... We hear James Taylor with "Knockin round the Zoo" and then a double shot of Sharon Jones. Quantic Soul double shot and then some Alice Russell. A Bob Remix and then the sweetest voice in the world! Who you may ask? Undoubtably Minnie Ripperton! A little Roy Ayers and the some soul with the kings: Roy, Elvis and Aaron Neville.

Fane of the Cosmos - FANE…BE HEAR NOW…BOOM SHIVA SHANTI SHATNER, TALES FROM THE TRIPPED
LSD
We kick it with Sweet leaf from Black Sabbath followed by the relieving story of the American Drug Czar under Obama stating that he no longer intends to use the term “War on Drugs” as it implies a war against the American people. Hurray! Then we hear an FBI Director try to defend to a Senate Committee the continued use of that agencies powers on cannabis. Can you say flail. Then we hear from old Arnie in California and his belief we should at least explore legalization of marijuana. Public Enemy Fight the Power. Then I do my own Tales from the Tripped relating an acid trip from days gone by and the over the top comical aspects of that trip. Boom Shatner. Thanks to the crazies who I tripped with. Chris Zingy and Zingy Twangs. We play a clip about Albert Hoffman the discoverer of LSD into Van Morrison it stoned me. Then we hear an amazing clip from an LSD lecture, lame. But the insights offered by an attending professor named Richard Alpert (Ram Dass) are incredible, for example explaining the mental trappings of scarcity and how LSD can help with that thinking. Steve Brockley plays Late Night Nancy. We finish a 2 part series on LSD research conducted by Gary Fisher on children with mental illness considered uncurable and his amazing successes. I end this show with a little pigs in space to cool off the swine flu hysteria. I would like the thank all the people who make this show possible, Natural Alchemy, Paul D (who helps with these podcasts!), Alan M, the volunteers at KCR, Terry, the freaks and the sponsor of the show.
