Break the Stereo - Febuary 28 2009 Part 1
Started this week off with Eddie Bo Yo! Hook n' sling baby... also with Sharon Jones, and Breakestra. King Floyd ldrops the funk with "Groove Me" and Rufus Thomas cleans it up Memphis Train 75". Johnny Moore spills it again with "Haven't I Been Good Enough to You". Poor guy. We've all been there... Dap Kings play a jittery number with "Nervous Like Me". A little world beat with some Fela, and African Music Machine. Then some sould with Wendy Rene "What will tomorrow bring?". Hopefully new understandings....

Break the Stereo - Febuary 28 2009 Part 2
Groove is in the heart. Ain't that the truth! I spin a mix of this famous song with some mashup versions and the original samples by Vernon Bunch and Herbie Hancock. Fred Wesley blows our minds with "Glow Your World". Loose Joints asks "Is it all over my Face?" Incredible Bongo Band does some Bongomania with "Bongolia". Peoples Choice sum it up with "Party is a Groovy Thing". Bobby Hughes Experience dig deep on "Theme From Skidoo" and Alice Russell lays the funk down with "All over Now".

Break the Stereo - Febuary 21 2009 Part 2
This second half was smooth and creamy. Ummmm. Ready or Not, the Delfonics and Fugees are comin' for ya. "Concrete Schoolyard" by J5 and Miss Dynamite with "Sick n' tired". Amy Winehouse with "Some Unholy War" and Alice Russell slams it with "seven Nation Army". All killer no filler. What's Goin' on with The Funky Muchachos and Marvin Gaye. Jill Scott, Jr. Walker and Tyrone Davis. To finish the show I played a song for all my bros. Spyder Turner odes to some of the greats with Stand By Me.

Break the Stereo - Febuary 21 Part 1
Started things off with Lee Dorsey, Freda Payne and the stylistics with "People Make The World Go Round". They certainly do... Labi Siffre with "I got the blues" and Betty Davis with her usually raw self. If she knew Karate we'd all be in trouble... Brothers Johnson with "Come together" certainly it the spot. Bobby Womack and Linda Clifford as well as the classic "Mary Jane" by the late Rick James. Keep the love close to you. It's a golden bubble of compassoion...
