Fane of the Cosmos - FANE…BE HEAR NOW…CHINESE SHAMANS 2700 YEAR OLD STASH-NO STALKS OR STEMS!
We start with a Nickelbag of Funk from Digable Planets. We talk about the one industry that isn’t asking for a bailout, but is willing to bale out the Canadian economy. NOFX- Franco Unamerican. A Buy Nothing day recap with Reverend Billy from 2006 featuring a great vocal choir. We do a 2 part look at language starting with Noam Chomsky and ending with Terence McKenna and visual language. A live song from Germanys Seeed, Psychedelic Kingdom. My cheesy look at the Barite Crushing Plant issue featuring Barry White. At least I was laughing. Noam Chomsky on the history of the criminalization of Marijuana. Bob Marley with Slave Drivers. John Walters backs the Mexican governments proposal to eliminate the criminal penalties for possession of small quantities of cannabis. A bungled Grateful Deadication to PaulD. I freak out on the recent article from the Journal of Experimental Botany featuring a 2700 year old cannabis stash found in a Chinese shamanic tomb. Research was done by Ethan Russo. A cut from the show Weeds about a drug policy announcement at an elementary school in the show. A cut from the Marijuanalogues. Billy Bragg and Wilco-I guess I planted a Seed. Two cuts from Alkex Greys CD World Spirit. I would like the thank all the people who make this show possible, Natural Alchemy, Paul D, Alan M, the volunteers at KCR, Terry, the freaks and the sponsor of the show Phantom Forest Electrix. If you want to listen to past shows they are available on the KCR website, just go to Fane Podcasts. Visit the Fane website at faneofthecosmos.ca.
