Welcome to what we hope will become Canada's most comprehensive directory of food localization in Canada.
Since Deconstructing Dinner first aired in January 2006, there has been a rapidly growing interest in the idea of food sovereignty, food security and what we are calling here; food localization. It appears Canadians are becoming increasingly aware of the unsustainable and irresponsible practices within the country's dominant food system; the one that has fed us for decades. Deconstructing Dinner has worked diligently to continually ask the hard questions that the mainstream media and poltical leaders have long failed to address. Taking the show one step further, our content has also become just as much about reconstructing our food system as it is about deconstructing it. This has led to a steady stream of emails that pour in from people around the world who have been inspired by the show to become more involved in food localization within their communities. It is for this reason that we have launched this directory. This directory will be an ongoing work in progress, and we encourage people from coast to coast to coast, to send us information about the work you do so that it can be included in the directory. Feedback and suggestions are greatly encouraged. This is a directory for all Canadians. In good health and well-being, Jon Steinman - Producer/Host
